How to Download a Clip From a SoundCloud DJ Set
May 2026
You're listening to a DJ set on SoundCloud. An hour in, a track drops that you need to hear again — but the mix isn't downloadable, and you don't want the whole two-hour file. You just want that one section.
The old approach was painful: record your screen audio, or download the full track with a third-party tool and then open it in Audacity to cut the part you want. That's a lot of steps for a 90-second clip.
The faster way
SC Ripper does the whole thing in one step. Paste the SoundCloud URL, type a start and end timestamp, and it downloads and cuts the audio server-side. You get an MP3 of just the section you asked for.
Step by step
-
1
Find the timestamp in the SoundCloud player
Scrub to the part you want and note the time shown in the player. SoundCloud shows it as H:MM:SS for long mixes.
-
2
Paste the URL into SC Ripper
Copy the track URL from your browser's address bar — not the share link. Paste it into the URL field on the home page.
-
3
Enter your start and end times
Type the timestamps in H:MM:SS, MM:SS, or plain seconds. You can leave one blank if you want everything up to or from a certain point.
-
4
Download or upload
Hit Rip clip. Once it's ready you can download the MP3, or — if you connect your SoundCloud account — upload it directly as a private track.
What formats and lengths are supported?
Any publicly accessible SoundCloud track works, including long DJ sets and mixes. There's no hard cap on source length — the server just downloads what it needs and cuts out your section. The result is always an MP3.
A note on copyright
SC Ripper is meant for personal use — saving a clip for your own listening, building a DJ practice library, or archiving a live set you were a part of. Don't redistribute clips you don't own the rights to.
